I was looking through my USB and found stuff from an old assignment my Broby Grafiska-class got last year. We was going to make a package design (+ some more stuff) for a "Swedish pizza". It was a quite a serious preoject, but in the end it kind of.. got thrown into the trash.. Well, what I found and still like from this is this pattern I made. It's inspired by a traditional, Swedish pattern called Kurbits.
For a couple of days I felt super productive and did some pictures and had good inspiration- then I got a Wii..
Two more chibis inspired by Lookbook. I tried a new skin colour on the girl, that's why she's so yellow-ish.. But I like her hair and the dude, I love drawing soft, fluffy things with lot's of colours and shadows~
It feels a bit empty now that the Christmas calendar is done.. Maybe me and my classmates should start a new calendar for something totally random?
Well, I'm really happy and proud of my classmates that we did this and I'm so happy that I took the role that I did in this project + all the help and nice words I got. Maybe I should make a new years promise to make more projects like this~
Go to our Tumblr to see all the videos of the MGD12STO Christmas calendar
Even if we suck at keeping our fridge clean, I really like my class! Enjoy the two random pictures of us transforming into a piano and a vacuum cleaner
I got stuck at LookBook looking at cute, handsome guys nice, inspiring outfits for maybe an hour earlier.. I don't know if I saved as many pictures as it feels like I did, but I looked through some of them and this first picture is a mash up with some~
And this picture I think you'll recognize.. I have done all the main colouring now, but it feels like it need some more work to it before it feels complete..
Sorry for the strange angles in the pictures, but it's hard not to get shadows in the pictures.. .___. Damn u dark winter!!
I'm having my first real day of the Christmas break and I feel so unproductive! I know that's kind of the point of it all, but.. well, for now I'll keep drawing these small pictures to glue on my application stuff!
Some of you may know this character, but for you who don't, this is L.
L is one of the main characters in one of my favourite mangas, Death Note. One of the reasons I like Death Note is because both the style and story feels more "mature" then the other mangas that I have read in the past. The writer and the illustrator is two separate persons, and I think that's a big part of it. That way (I guess) the artists have time to put more effort in their work! Another thing that I really like with Death Note, and the reason why I made this picture (and planing to make more) is because of the character designs~ Super nice to use my copics again!
The guy in the store said that I was lucky, a lot of people has trying to get one for a long time now- so I'm extra happy!!
BUT.. Now that I have unboxed it (video up soon, lol) I have to charge it for 3 hours! I don't know why Wacom couldn't give a charged battery, but it irritates me.. But I do like the packaging and the design, it feels quite exclusive when you open it.
I'm sorry that I haven't written any "proper" blog posts lately, but I've been sick and it's been deadlines in school etc., etc. .. But I now feel better and if I remember correctly, I only have one deadline before Christmas!
Today I spent the whole day at home, been both pretty awesome and boring. I've been trying to stay off the computer and school, so I spent most of my day baking and trying to figure out the last things for my portfolio/application-thingie! The boring part is that I need to finish all the text before I start to glue everything together x_____x I WANT TO GLUE STUFF!! Not sure why, but I find that very fun.. OTL
At least I did two fast sketches that'll be in it + some planing of placement of stufff
OH! Today I got an e-mail that I can pick up my Inkling and I also ordered an AZUM t-shirt from McBess. I'm really curious about the Inkling, hopefully I'll be in a good mood for drawing tomorrow after I pick it up!
Me and Anton, a classmate, has started with our contribution for the Christmas calendar. It's going to be in 3D with a background in 2D, so it's a good opportunity for me to see how that works together when it comes to the making of it. What the story in our video is I won't say later, but here, have a 3D-tree!
Also, Anton reminded me about this aaaaawesome video
We in the Motion Graphic Design class(es) here at Hyper Island has gotten a new project, to make "bumpers" to MTV's new TV-station IGGY! We can basically do anything we want as long as it's in a time frame of 5-30 sec. You can find out more about IGGY here. This morning me and my group went out filming, an right now we're editing the clips + doing style frames. It has been both super fun and super strange..!
I have been sooo unproductive today.. I had some plans, like, start painting a bag, finish sketches for two others, write down some ideas I have for the Christmas calendar and so on. I've mostly spent my day watching How I Met Your Mother =_____= At lest I tried to doodle down an idea for a picture, but I ended up doing (by accident!) a self portrait. It's not a chibi!! To bad I did the fringe on the wrong side tho.
During the last couple of days I have spent some hours on making my new application/portfolio for this years internship! I have it all figured out in my head + I have made prototypes of two of the four/five pages. What I'll do is a book with all the info a application "should" contain + a lot of fun features! As you can see from the pictures, this'll not be just another, ordinary book~
Okay, so.. This animation is quite awesome! I found it this morning when I was looking for inspiration and just got amazed by the sound in it. I see this as a good example of what big effect sound have. Personally I don't like the robot design so much, but the scenes that's in just 2-3 colours looks fantastic!
