Le!

At the moment I'm working on some fun stuff with two other people that's in this years Hyper Island Motion class. We're improving a music video for some guys and I'm making fun stuff~ As you may know, I'm a sucker for cell-animation so that's what I'm doing. But this time I'm using a different technique

Oldies from September

A while ago I went to croquis with Weelow to freshen up our skills! Here are some of my best ones, I'm honestly too ashamed to show all of my sketches. Good practice, but not my thing making it look good...

Learning by Doing

I've been using my new sketchbook for a while now, trying different ways of drawing. It seems to be working for most techniques, but yesterday my line art (made with water resistant ink) got partly sabotaged when I used markers for colouring. I've done it before and then it went okay, so it was a disappointment.. But I think that the problem is that the ink needs a longer time to dry on this paper. Othervise, I'm pretty happy with this sketchbook~

Patchwork WIP

I've spent a lot of time working on my patchwork the last couple of days, spreading out all the pieces in the living room and kitchen so that I have a good overview. It goes pretty fast and I think I have a good technique. The slowest part is to arrange everything before I start sewing the pieces together.. But seeing it all get together is really fun and a good motivator!

I'm saved!

So, I finally bought myself a new sketchbook today. It reminds of Moleskin, but cost like.. half the price? A person who also is doing the daily drawing thing recommended these notebooks a while ago, so I bought it today and will give it a try later on tonight. The pages seems to be nice, hopefully they can stand markers and don't leave sketch marks (you know, when you erase them but they are still there).

The Gruffalo

Just saw this great animated short film, The Gruffalo. It has a nice style and story, so if you have a couple of minutes over I recommend you to see it.

19 day inspiration BOOM!

Almost every day for soon a week now I've been getting small but intense doses of happiness! Why? Well, in one month I'm going to Indonesia!! It's going to be epic, sooo fucking epic..! I'll be in the capital Jakarta, but also (and for most of the time) on Bali. I'll be there for about 19 days, enjoying the heat, having fun with my friends, go on adventure and hopefully get duper inspired. I've heard that Bali is sort of a paradise and that Jakarta is a really big and busy town. I'm so looking forward to see visit both these places and hope that I can bring my drawing materials and make stuff (whenever I'm not busy enjoying other things) from all the new, inspiring sights.

If Google is to trust, this is somewhat how Bali looks like

Helpless

Before I started my "One drawing per day"-project I hated using sketchbooks. I didn't get the idea with them. I felt limited by the size and pressure to perform since you can't really just tear out the page with the "bad" drawing. But now when I don't have any, I feel helpless. What am I supposed to do with my ideas now?! I've been looking around stores at the local mall, but nothing.. The only thing with blank pages I can find is books with those spiral holders, no thanks!! They make me nervous. True story.
So I mostly doodle stuff on single sheets of papers now, quotes that pops up in me head or that I hear from shows or read somewhere, silly self portraits, random shapes and colourful splashes of watercolour.
I need a new sketchbook, damn it!

September

This month I've been working a lot on my showreel, so a lot of the daily drawings were spent putting together animations, logos and fluffy clouds. But here are most of the drawings from September, enjoy!

Work work work

So except from sending out work applications I've started to work on other projects now that the reel is finished. I've made some character designs for Jan that he'll remake in 3D but both yesterday and today I've spent some hoers working on my patchwork. I think I will keep looking for some more fabrics since I'm not thaaat fond of one-two of the ones I got. BUT! It's getting there ans it's super fun seeing it come together.
